Tailgating and Picnic Boxes

How can I purchase tailgating spaces and picnic box seats?
Tailgate space owners and picnic box owners from the prior year have the privilege of renewing their space/box up until the renewal ticket deadline published on our invitation.  Any spaces/boxes not purchased by the deadline will go on sale to the general public.  All tailgating spaces and picnic boxes are sold online via this web site or by phone at 404-237-7436.

March 10, 2012.   

What if I want to change tailgate locations from last year?
You must renew your tailgating space and/or picnic box by the renewal ticket deadline and indicate in the special comments section on your order form or online where you wish to move. After everyone has had the opportunity to renew their space from the previous year, our office staff will try to accommodate your request. Requests are fulfilled by seniority, therefore the priority of your request directly corresponds to the number of years you have been a tailgate space or picnic box owner.  It is imperative that you fully complete the shopping process to guarantee that your space has been purchased.  Once your transaction is complete, you will receive an e-mail confirmation.

If I don't renew by the renewal ticket deadline, can I still purchase tickets?
Yes, but you do risk losing the previous year’s space. Guaranteed renewal of a space you have previously owned only occurs when you have purchased your tickets prior to the renewal ticket deadline.

Which areas can I access with my guarantor tailgate or picnic box armband?

You may access sponsor row, the pre-race party in the guarantor tent and the infield.

Which areas can I access with my subscriber tailgate or general admission armband?

The infield.

How will I receive my tickets and information?

Tickets are mailed from March 20 through April 4th. Tickets purchased on or after April 4th must be picked up at our office or you may provide a Fedex or UPS number to ensure delivery prior to the event date.

There is no will-call.

Can I purchase tailgating or picnic box tickets on race day?
No! No tailgating space or armbands will be sold on race day.

Can I buy individual tailgating armbands?

No, all armband purchases must be affiliated with a specific tailgating space.  In order to purchase tailgating armbands, you either must own a tailgating space or have permission from a space owner to use their guest username and password to purchase armbands from their space.

What if I do not have a credit card?
If you do not have a credit card, you can mail in a check.  If making payment by check, you must still adhere to deadlines.  Send payment to:

What exactly is a picnic box?

Picnic box seats are located on the hillside along the finish line.  They are the preferred seating for the event as they offer the best view of the finish line.  Picnic boxes are not enclosed, covered, or air-conditioned.  Picnic boxes are located on terraces on the hillside and are separated by wood fencing.  Each picnic box includes a 6 foot table, four chairs and a tablecloth.  For more info and pricing click here.
