2010 Featured Artist

Bonnie Beauchamp Cooke lives in Atlanta with her husband, George and two sons, Tristan and Kyle. If she is not painting in her studio at the Tula Art Galleries on Bennett Street in Buckhead, you can most likely find her riding her horses on their farm in Madison, GA. Bonnie works on large canvases which she preps with several layers of just about anything she can get her hands on…including molding paste, dirt, paint and paper. Using her hands, she layers paint in acrylic and oil over the surface creating the texture from which emerges a distinctly figurative painting.

Viewers are especially taken by her horses. She feels that if she paints her passion, it will show. Bonnie reflects on her love of horses, saying “I love to watch the horses and then paint them from a split-second moment in time. In this manner, I believe I can best capture the power, personality, and intensity of the animal that has both fascinated and served man from our earliest history.” For additional information or to view her work, please visit www.beauchamp-cooke.com or www.decordemon.com
